The German market has never been so close
German is my favourite language: despite it wasn’t easy for me switching to this weird way of thinking, but over time I started appreciating how logic is this way of communicating.
Sure, I won’t be the one to tell you that German and Italian are so different, but let me tell you some examples. First of all, they differ in the words’ morphology: as Italian, when we read something in French or Spanish it seems comprehensible because terms are very similar between these languages, but this is not the case of German.
There are few German words of latin origin that are similar you our Italian ones and they belong to very specialised fields: this makes German almost incomprehensible for those who don’t have a basic knowledge at least.

Moreover, German has a wider vocabulary variety than Italian: for a word in Italian, there are often several options in German and this makes it hard to translate them differently. For example, if we want to translate a German word, we often need to use many Italian words to have the same meaning.
The syntax between Italian and German is very different as well: in the first language you can freely put elements in a sentence as you want, according to where you want to put focus on; in the second, you need to stick to a stricter structure and if you don’t, your message may be misunderstood.
German is a language spoken not only in Germany, but also in Austria, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Liechtenstein, Belgium and in other countries all over the world as a minority language – even in Namibia! This means that many different varieties of German exist which need to be deeply known to be translated properly in every nuance.
