I BRIDGE THE GAP. WITH WORDS.

AND MY BRIDGES NEVER CRUMBLE.

Ciao, nice to meet you!

My name is Francesca Manicardi, interpreter and translator: my job is connecting people who do not speak the same language, helping them to communicate effectively. I am me also when I work… how? See for yourself what I mean.

Passionate

I love what I do and that’s exactly why I do it: this is the job in which I truly give my best and this makes me feel good.

Professional

A translation or an interpreting assignment are hard work. The hardest part of my job tough is helping people understand why it’s important to hire a professional instead of using Google Translate for free, or going DIY. Because improvising leads to putting a foot in your mouth and ending up paying more to remedy the problem. And don’t get me started on the damage to reputation. You get the idea.

Young

Punto F èis a fresh-out-of-the-oven brand, in constant evolution and always up-to-date. While it was founded in 2015, I was born a little bit earlier than that – let’s say just enough time to have experience to share with you and help you achieve remarkable goals.

Serious

And efficient – but always with a smile. That’s the beauty of life, isn’t it? Organisational skills and accuracy are the key elements of my efforts: they serve me well and surely they’ll please you.

Straightforward

I strive to maintain a clear and honest approach with all my clients, strictly fulfilling expectations and agreements. And I do so by clearly explaining how I work and what are the rules I abide by. This is the only way for me to be available for your projects.

Specialised

I am not an expert on everything and anything. That’s why I only take on projects in my fields of specialisation, that I have extensive experience on and for which I have an inner passion. This way I can use my technical knowledge, my terminology skills and my cultural and personal background to maximise results – and my clients’ satisfaction.

SOMETHING ABOUT ME

I have studied English, German, French, Spanish and Russian but decided to work in English, French and German only because those are the languages I’ve been learning in depth for now over 10 years. In 2008 I realised the road I had taken was the right one: it was the last year of my BA in Sciences of Linguistic Mediation from the SULM “Oxford” in Mantua, the first year of work as a conference and liaison interpreter in Italy and Germany and as a translator for technical documents.

After my MA in Conference Interpreting from the University of Udine and after gaining experience working for several companies as an interpreter and translator, I was asked to be an Italian tutor to foreigners: that’s when I found out that even the most unexpected road can be full of beautiful surprises. And there and then I fell in love with teaching.
I kept working as an interpreter and translator while employed in a company, until the desire to run my own language services business was too strong to be ignored.

And in 2015, Punto F was born.

ME TODAY

My job working with languages is like a big chest of drawers, filled with clothes and accessories of all sorts: technical translations, patent translations, creative translations, proofreading of texts translated by others, conference and face-to-face interpreting, English lessons, German lessons, French lessons, Italian courses for foreigners, mentoring for (Italian) buddying freelance interpreters and translators.

When I’m off work, I cuddle my cat, I binge-watch TV series, I study, I travel the world as much as I can, I write and most of all I talk to people.

This is my story. Now over to you: what’s yours?
